Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has announced the abolition of the Matriculation or Class 10 board examinations in the state. Instead, internal examinations in schools will be conducted with other assessments to promote students to the next level, in line with the National Education Policy 2020. There will be a continued process from class 10 to 12, with students appearing in board exams only for Class 12.
