Cyclone Michaung: Schools, offices to remain shut in TN and Andhra Pradesh

Schools in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh are closed due to Cyclone Michaung, with the Indian Meteorological Department issuing warnings of heavy rainfall. The severe cyclonic storm is anticipated to make landfall along the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh. The government has declared a holiday for schools, cancelled programs, and advised residents to stay home. Rescue teams are on standby. Cyclone Michaung is the first storm to hit the Andhra Pradesh coast since Cyclone Gulab in 2021, posing concerns for farmers and communities.
